Tangerine, Fudge, Buttery

This clever little coffee will help you solve differential equations! Or at the very least, it will help you forget all about math, because as soon as it hits your tastebuds the only thoughts you'll be thinking will be "whoa" and "dang" and "more please." Easy-drinking, crowd-pleasing flavors unfold with each sweet sip - like milk chocolate, toffee, nougat, juicy tangerine, and a hint of cherry on the finish. Every time we take a drink, we taste something new. How ingenious is that?!

The Asobombo association is dedicated to fostering generational change within Huila's coffee community. Nearly half of their 170 young producer members are women. Together, they strengthen their land by integrating traditional customs with modern agricultural approaches. Their smallholder farms are situated in southern Huila, near the majestic Salto de Bordones waterfall, at altitudes ranging from 1600 to 2000 meters above sea level.

This exquisite coffee lot is the fruit of the labor of 85 dedicated female members of Asobombo, who cultivate their farms in Huila. Their commitment to producing high-quality specialty coffees is evident in their meticulous cultivation and processing methods. The premiums earned from their coffee are continuously reinvested into enhancing their farm and processing infrastructure. Furthermore, they are always eager to explore new processing techniques to elevate overall quality. The cooperative estimates that this vital work, championing gender and opportunity equality, indirectly benefits over 300 individuals, including the children, spouses, and other family members of these 85 women.

Bright Minds is our easy-drinking, smooth, single-origin South American offering with a nutty/cocoa flavor profile and a hint of citrus acidity.

In 2006, several producers in the rural area of Llanada Naranjos banded together to combine their harvests and showcase the quality of San Agustín-grown coffee. They named themselves Los Naranjos, and their members have grown substantially (in number and knowledge) in the last 17 years. With the help of a PECA agronomist from Caravela Coffee, farmers are constantly learning how to manage, improve, and promote sustainability on their farms, which average between 1-5 hectares. This harvest is a composite of 23 lots from 17 small-scale farmers

Bright Minds is a prime example of a high-quality washed coffee from Huila. Ripe cherries were collected by hand then fully washed on each farmer’s on-site wet mill. After a 30-hour post-pulping dry fermentation, parchment coffee is dried on covered patios for 10-15 days.

San Agustín sits in the fertile Colombian Massif in Huila, Colombia, widely known for its agriculture and booming tourism industry. The region is also home to a famous pre-Columbian archeological park, named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.

This coffee supports the International Women’s Coffee Alliance. For each 12oz bag we sell, we donate $1 to programs to empower and educate female coffee producers worldwide.
