In the southern region of Huila, Colombia, nestled high in the mountains with a breathtaking view of the Magdalena River, lies the charming municipality of San Agustín. This area is rich in cultural heritage, home to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Archaeological Park, which spans 116 hectares. It is in this picturesque and historically significant locale that we find Yamile Muñoz and her farm, Finca Las Juntas.

Story

The farm has been a family legacy, initially owned by Yamile's grandfather and gradually acquired by her father. Yamile spent her childhood on this farm, but like many, she looked for better opportunities and moved to Bogotá, Colombia's bustling capital. However, the call of her roots and the desire to raise her child in the peaceful countryside drew her back to San Agustín nearly seven years ago.

This return marked a pivotal moment in Yamile's life. Teaming up with her mother, she decided to dive into coffee farming. Initially, their efforts focused on commercial-grade coffee. However, two and a half years ago, inspired by the potential of specialty coffee, Yamile and her mother made the significant decision to transition to producing specialty coffee. This shift presented numerous challenges, demanding hard work and meticulous attention to detail, but it also brought rewarding improvements in their income and quality of life.

Yamile extends a heartfelt invitation to visit their farm and the beautiful town of San Agustín. She shares, "Our coffee is carefully nurtured by women's hands, and we always strive to produce the best coffee possible for you to enjoy. We are committed to continuous improvement, investing in our farm, and making our coffee and San Agustín recognized worldwide."
