Our COVID-19 Updates and FAQs

Posted by Miranda Haney on

Updated August 24, 2020.

I'm reading this now, well into August. When I published this blog post in March, I don't think any of us could have anticipated what the spring and summer would look like. I can't even say I miss the way things were - I think we're so far away from that now. The future is going to be different. Change is inevitable and also quite beautiful. I'm excited for the future of our industry. But for now, we're taking it one day at a time. Anyway, here's what's new.

Cafe Ordering
Our set up at E5!

FAQs

Are you open? Yes! Both locations are open for to-go service only and limited patio seating with adjusted hours. 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. in Austin and 6:30 a.m. - 2 p.m in Bee Cave. We are offering our full menu at both locations.

Can I place an order for pickup? Of course! The easiest way to do this is by ordering online here. We've got drinks, beans, pastries, and other bulk items available for purchase. Again, that's cafes.greatergoodsroasting.com for online ordering.

Can I purchase bulk-sized coffee in person? Yep! We have 2lb and 5lb whole bean coffee available at our East 5th location and at the Lakeline and Mueller farmers markets. We advise calling ahead to make sure the coffee you want is in stock.

Can I bring my own mug? Unfortunately not. We are using to-go cups only. This is a hard one for us, but it's the right thing to do right now.

How about my growler? Yes! We will gladly fill your cold brew growlers. You keep the lid, and we'll sanitize and fill them on the spot!

How can I help your baristas? Thank you for asking! Tips make up a large portion of our baristas' wages. Even though we’re keeping our operations open, we are not nearly as busy. We’ve started a virtual tip jar to help them out during these hard times. Please consider throwin’ a little change their way on Venmo: @GGBaristas

What's the deal with classes and the training lab? We've just announced a handful of virtual coffee classes. Dial-in one of our coffees with our expert baristas, learn the ins and outs of a new apparatus, or just refresh your brain with some good ol' fashioned human connection. SCA classes are available on a case by case basis.

Other important information:

Our team is closely following CDC guidelines. We’re sanitizing surfaces every 2 hours (sometimes more frequently), wearing gloves, washing our hands, and practicing social distancing.

Patio seating is limited and spaced out 6ft. apart. Be kind to your fellow humans and use your best judgement. Oh and please, please bring your dogs. We really want to see them.

We are not issuing any refunds at this time. All sales are final.

We brought back the CBD, y’all. Add Cheekywell's Sweet Vanilla or Cool Mint hemp oil to any drink or pick up a full bottle to keep at home. This is essential.
