Green Coffee Foundation covers key concepts for sourcing green coffee from growing and processing to logistics and financing. Students are introduced to the differences in species and processing methods as well as the basics of grading and quality control. Sensory component includes tasting Arabica and Robusta, washed and natural processes, and identifying common defects.
- Outline coffee species, global production volume, farm terms, and climate concerns
- Describe post-harvest processing methods, drying, milling, and sorting
- Identify basic shipping, storage, price risk management, and contract terms
- Learn to use sizing screens and analyze moisture content
Duration: 8 hours (including written and practical exam)
