This course is designed to build on the knowledge gained in Green Coffee Foundation and prepare the student for more complex job functions found in the green coffee profession. Including botany, agronomy, processing, defects, grading, contracts, market terminology, decaffeination, and certifications.
• Botany and agronomy are developed further
• Processing and defects are explored in more detail
• Core elements of green coffee contracts are introduced, market terminology is developed further
• Grading, quality differentiation, seasonality and quality storage variables are
introduced as concepts
Prerequisites: It is recommended that students have been working for a minimum of six months in a job with exposure to green coffee before taking this module. Green Coffee Foundation is recommended but not required.
Duration: 2 days (including written and practical exam)
Course registration fees are non-refundable. Students may transfer registration to another course date with 7 day notice.
