Wush Wush is a rare variety that originated in the Wushwush village in southwestern Ethiopia, a region commonly known as the birthplace Coffea arabica and still highly esteemed for some of the best coffees in the world today. The plant grows wild there; most of the people who harvest it are “garden farmers”, meaning they pick cherries right off the trees in their home gardens and bring them to a centralized location to be processed. This limited-time offering was grown by 2500+ farmers in the Ginbo district and collected at Dinkalem Ademe’s washing station, where the cherries were depulped and sundried in a thin layer of mucilage on raised beds for 12-14 days.
The beans are small, round, and dense, with a high natural sugar content and vibrant acidity. Each cup will be a little different due to its wild nature, but an unforgettable sweetness remains constant.
